New Welcome Center for SAU

SAU - Jane Kettering

A busy intersection in Davenport will soon be the site of a new welcome center for Saint Ambrose University. On Monday, it completed the purchase of the former Eye Care Pavilion building, at West Locust and Harrison.

Work has already started to remodel the interior, and it should be completed by July.
The new Welcome Center will also include offices for the university's admissions department.
Saint Ambrose officials say it will be an appealing way to welcome prospective students and their families, and thanks to its location, provide great advertising for the university.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
