Becca Niles is the Community Outreach and Experience Manager for Davenport Parks and Recreation. She says it is the third park in the northeast part of the city.

"And so it was something we knew we wanted to develop as more houses were being built in that area and then as neighbors were coming into the area and houses were being filled, the neighborhood had worked with us on wanting to make sure that they had a neighboorhood park."

The nine acre neighborhood park has a shelter, playground, a quarter mile walking trail, and open greenspace.

"It also offers a place for people to get out and participate in healthy activities whether that is utilizing the walking trails, utilizing the greenspace for any kind of sports activities. I'm a big proponent of being outdoors, so anytime that there is a kind of greenspace that I can sit under a tree and do something I'm always there."

Niles says development of the new park began in 2019 and contruction was completed just last month.
