Tuesday morning, the county board is scheduled to review a possible contract with Bruce Builders for the 22.5 million dollar facility.
It was the lowest of five bids received for the project.
The current center in downtown Davenport is more than 50 years old and licensed for 18 beds. The new center would be licensed for 40, and located on North Tremont Street in Davenport where the sheriff's department patrol center was once located.
It's now called the Scott County Youth Justice and Rehabilitation Center because it'll host other programs in addition to detention for juveniles suspected of crimes
Supervisors could give their final approval for a contract with Bruce Builders on Thursday during their next meeting.
