Bradley University's one-week COVID-19 positivity rate now stands at 14.4% as the university experiences a spike in new cases.
A total of 102 members of the campus community tested positive for the coronavirus in the last week, out of 142 total positives since the semester began on Aug. 24. Forty-seven people tested positive on campus, and an additional 55 were identified through off-campus tests.
The average positivity rate since the semester began is 8.46%.
On Tuesday, Bradley University President Steve Standifird ordered all students to quarantine in their residences for two weeks to tamp down on potential COVID-19 exposures.
University spokeswoman Renee Charles said there have been a few large gatherings, but small congregations are proving to be more problematic.
There have been 890 tests administered on campus since the semester began, including 325 this week. Bradley is surveillance-testing students and employees on campus at random, as well as those who show symptoms.
