River Roots Live Lineup Announced
June 14, 2013
A Quad Cities summer festival has announced its musical lineup. In August, visitors to this year's River Roots Live will hear from 17 bands and eat ribs made by vendors from all over the country.
Jason Gilliland, director of events for the Davenport Downtown Partnership, says this year's festival has a little something for everyone.
"We're really excited this year," said Gilliland. "We have, what I feel is, a really strong lineup. Our Saturday night headliner is The Wallflowers, which is pretty recognizable to a lot of people. They've had some big hits, and are just a great band all around. And then on Friday night we'll have Shooter Jennings and the BoDeans kind of co-headlining that night. We have a really big, diverse lineup this year that I think people will really enjoy."
Other artists include The Big Wu (Woo), Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts, and the Dead Leaves Travelin' Band.
Gilliland says this is the ninth year for the combined music and barbeque festival.
"Who doesn't like to sit out on the grass in a park and listen to music," said Gilliland, "And you know, just have a good time and eat good food with family and friends? Just a fun time. The price is right, too."
Admission to River Roots Live is free before 5 pm on both days of the festival, and five dollars after that. The festival will be held August 16th and 17th in Davenport's LeClaire Park.
