Davenport Flood Update

May  09, 2014

The Mississippi River in the Quad Cities has gone above flood stage, and will rise some more. Currently the river is at nine-tenths of a foot over flood stage (3:30 pm), and is expected to crest on Monday afternoon at 1.6 feet over flood stage.

Water has reached the seawall sidewalk in LeClaire Park, and is slowly approaching Modern Woodmen Park. City crews have started to assemble the stadium's floodwall.

The rollers on the dam are "up" because they're not needed to maintain the minimum depth for commercial navigation upstream from Lock and Dam 15.

Davenport has closed Beiderbecke Drive, between Gaines and Warren, and additional locations along Beiderbecke are expected to be closed this weekend. The Credit Island Causeway has been closed, and South Concord remains closed from south of River Drive to Wapello.
