Western Illinois University is making it easier for smart students to get help with tuition. Students applying to attend next fall may be eligible to automatically recieve up to $10,000 annually. And they don't have to complete a separate application.

Jack Thomas will continue as president of Western Illinois University for at least another year. Friday during a meeting in Macomb, the board of trustees extended his contract, with no change to his salary and benefits.

Theatre classes typically involve writing, acting, or stage production. But Western Illinois University is taking those expectations and putting a dagger in them. For the first time, the campus in Macomb will offer five classes to students who want to minor in “Stage Combat.”
