River Forecasts Raised

Forecasts for the Mississippi River have been revised upwards.

This weekend, people will learn about frogs, toads, and how they communicate during a hike in the dark. On Saturday, the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center in Dixon will host a program called, "Moonlight Frog Chorus."

The Mississippi River is rising and should reach flood stage, from Dubuque to the Quad Cities, this weekend.

The Mississippi River is rising and will continue to rise in May as snow melts north of the Quad Cities area. The weather service says earlier this month, heavy snow fell onto snowpack from the winter. As it got warmer, most of the snow has been melting and running off into the Mississippi.
