A long career at John Deere will end next month for a member of the senior management team. Tuesday the company announced Max Guinn will retire in November.

John Deere is taking two companies to court, saying they are using patented inventions in their products.

John Deere has announced an ambitious list of sustainability goals, and set a deadline to achieve them of 2022. The goals focus on 5 key areas including occupational safety, sustainable energy use, responsible water use, increased recycling, and sustainable products.

The Smithsonian has declared 2018 "The Year of the Tractor." It's been 100 years since John Deere bought the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company. And now, a 1918 Waterloo Boy Tractor is featured in an exhibit at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

In the spring of 2010, the Figge Art Museum in Davenport partnered with Deere and Company to showcase works from the company's art collection. Here's Michelle O'Neill's report that previewed the opening of the exhibit entitled, Global Currents: The John Deere Art Collection.

The Quad Cities is well-known as the home of John Deere, but what's not well-known is that it's also the home of the company's extensive art collection.

After being battered for three years in a row by a global farm recession and weak construction markets, this year should be a welcome improvement for John Deere. The maker of farm and construction equipment based in Moline is scheduled to release its report Wednesday for the fiscal year that ended October 31st.

Deere Wins Trademark Case

Deere and Company has won a trademark dispute with a South Dakota company that makes agricultural sprayers. A federal judge in Kentucky has ruled FIMCO Incorporated, and its brand of Ag Spray Equipment, cannot use John Deere green and yellow on its products.

A former employee of John Deere will go to prison for cheating the company. Tuesday in federal court in Rock Island, Harvey Ulfers was sentenced to two years and nine months following his guilty pleas to wire fraud and money laundering.

This spring, John Deere has been showing off next year's new product lines, which include a new, S-700 combine series. This morning at the Harvester Works in East Moline, company employees hosted dozens of reporters from all over the country for Deere Media Day.


A new company is now running the cafe and special events at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport. Last week, the museum and Frontier Hospitality Group celebrated their partnership that officially began in January.
