Amazon plans to open a warehouse and distribution facility in Illinois next year, and Quad Cities business leaders hope our area will be chosen.
Today the country's largest e-commerce retailer announced it will build a 75 million dollar project that would employ about 1,000 people. But no site has been chosen, only that Amazon is "excited" to find the right location in Illinois, break ground, and start building.
Paul Rumler, executive vice president of the Quad City Chamber of Commerce, says the chamber will do everything it can to make sure this area is considered.
He also thinks the Quad Cities has many possible sites and an excellent workforce.
