The "Wall that Heals" is now on display in Moline. The replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. arrived at the campus of Western Illinois University Wednesday, and will stay through Sunday.

The memorial in Washington was first unveiled in 1982, and now has more than 58,000 names. The half-size replica began touring the country in 1996, and has since visited more than 400 cities.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
