Ryan Hippen, a Field Engineer with the Illinois DOT, says in the spring, the westbound lanes to Iowa will be closed in Moline.

The local detour will be 19th Street between the Avenue of the Cities and River Drive (see map in slideshow).

In downtown Bettendorf, traffic will be detoured to 14th Street and Kimberly Road (see map in slideshow).

From now through April 1st, Hippen says the contractor in Illinois will work on preliminary projects necessary for the detours. For example, a noise abatement wall will be built near the Avenue of the Cities ramp.

Crews will also install foundations for detour signs along I-74 and 19th Street. In addition, Hippen says work will begin to install signs to send through traffic to Interstates 80 and 280. More information is HERE.
