Joedy Cook, founder and CEO of Ballet Quad Cities, and Courtney Lyon, the group's Artistic Director, have partnered to bring first-rate dance to the Quad Cities community. Their mission is to provide professional classical and contemporary dance through outstanding performances, entertaining lecture-demonstrations, and innovative educational outreach programs for people of all ages.

In addition to their major 2018-2019 performance schedule, they also offer a wide variety of classes at their School of Dance, which is located at 617 17th Street in Rock Island.

Listen to our conversation here about the history of The Nutcracker ballet, and the extensive behind-the-scenes work needed to bring this beloved performance to the Quad Cities.

Performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m. The Saturday performances will be accompanied by live music performed by Orchestra Iowa, with which Ballet Quad Cities is affiliated. An "afterglow" event will be held at the nearby Hotel Blackhawk following Saturday’s evening performance.

Tickets may be purchased through Ballet Quad Cities' website here.
