Small companies in the Quad Cities will learn how to do business with the government this week.
On Thursday, the Iowa Illinois chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association will host a lunch seminar on Arsenal Island.
Natalie Linville-Mass is a member of the chapter's board and President of Media Link, a marketing firm based in Rock Island. She says every time she applies for a government contract, it's 25 to 100 pages long.
The seminar will teach small businesses about the process and where to go for help. The two main speakers will be local officers of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, known as "P-TAC."
Topics that will be covered include registering to work for the government, preparing required certifications, identifying bid opportunities, and preparing contract proposals.
The National Defense Industrial Association Iowa-Illinois chapter luncheon will be held Thursday at 11:30 am at Arsenal Island's golf course clubhouse.
