River Bandits Thank Fans

Quad Cities River Bandits

If you had tickets for the June 29th game between the Quad Cities River Bandits and Beloit Snappers, chances are you had a tough time finding an open spot in the bleachers. That's because the River Bandits gave away dozens of free tickets for that night's game.

It was the team's way of saying thank you to the fans for voting Modern Woodmen Park the best Class A ballpark in the nation in an online contest held by Ballpark Digest.

Ben Payne talked with fans as they picked up their free tickets at the stadium.
That's Ben Payne reporting.

Again, the number to call to share your story from Modern Woodmen Park is 563.484.0929.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
