Quad City Mallards Prep for 20th Season

As they begin their 20th season, the Quad City Mallards will look to the past. When the Mallards open the new season next month, players will wear jerseys worn by the team 20 years ago, during its inaugural season in 1996.

Team owner, Jordan Melville, made the announcement today and unveiled the Mallards' 20th anniversary season logo. He says in his four years as owner, the team has made the Quad Cities one of the top minor league sports markets in the country.
Coach and General Manager, Terry Ruskowski, says hockey has changed a lot in the 20 years the Mallards have played. But, the team is ready for new challenges this season.

He says today, the game is all about speed.

Today during the Quad City Mallards Media Day, team officials also announced there'll be an alumni game in January, as part of the 20th anniversary celebration.

The Mallards will open the season with a game against the Fort Wayne Komets on October 14th, at the I-Wireless Center in Moline.
