the Rock River at Harold's Landing in Moline, Thursday morning.

Rivers in the Quad Cities area continue to rise, but more slowly than earlier this week.

At Dewitt, the Wapsipinicon River has reached flood stage, and will crest 3 tenths of a foot higher later in the day on Thursday, and then begin to fall quickly.

At Joslin, the Rock River has risen 4 feet since Wednesday and is now 4 feet over flood stage. It's expected to go up another half foot and crest on Friday. And the Rock is just over flood stage Thursday in Moline, with a forecast for a crest at 2.6 feet over flood stage on Friday night.

In the Quad Cities, the Mississippi River is more than 4 feet below flood stage. And it's expected to rise one foot tonight (thurs).

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
