QC Airport announces Washington, D.C. flights

Passenger air service will soon start between the Quad Cities and Washington, D.C. This morning, airport officials and members of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce announced flights from the Quad City Airport to Dulles Airport will begin October 26th.

Tara Barney, president of the Chamber of Commerce, says the new service was created in part to help the Rock Island Arsenal.

Each year, about 10,000 people travel between the Quad Cities and Washington, D.C. That's why Molly Foley, chair of the airport board of commissioners, says the non-stop flights to Washington, D.C. will serve more than just the Arsenal.
