The Davenport Community School District is one step closer to selling the building of a previously closed school.
On Monday the school board approved plans to hold a public hearing about the proposed $740,000 sale of the former Lincoln Elementary School building.
The building is located in the 300 block of East 7th Street in Davenport, and includes an additional parking lot across from Pershing Street. That's a total of 2.65 acres.
The proposed hearing should take place July 10th.
The school awarded a $1.4 million contract to Precision Builders to add on to Sudlow Intermediate School.
That includes adding administrative offices and creating a secure entry point on the north side of the building.
A spokesperson for the district says Sudlow is the only school in the district without a secure entry point.
