Pollock's Transformed "Mural" Begins European Tour

This weekend, one of Iowa's most famous paintings begins a European tour after having a facelift of sorts. Jackson Pollock's "Mural" spent a few years at Davenport's Figge Art Museum due to a flood in Iowa City.

Later it was was shipped to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles for conservation. And "Mural" did not disappoint, giving the art world a rare glimpse into Pollock's art before he began pouring, dripping, and flinging paint onto canvas.

On today's WVIK News Focus, Michelle O'Neill reports.
"Pollock's 'Mural': Energy Made Visible" opens on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
