New Classes for Quad Cities Entrepreneurs

A program to help entrepreneurs plan new businesses is coming to the Quad Cities. On Thursday, Ignite Quad Cities and the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges will offer information sessions about the upcoming Venture School.

Spokeswoman Julie Forsythe says Venture School is a six-week program for people wanting to sell a new product or start a new business.
She says the program will help people develop a business model and test it with potential customers in the real world.

Venture School students are able to go out and speak with real potential customers.

Forsythe says after the program, students will know how to meet with investors, find start-up money, and get their businesses off the ground.

The information sessions on Thursday are at noon and 5:15 pm, at the Quad Cities Chamber Offices.
Venture School classes begin in March at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. Applications are due in February.
