Monmouth College to be Featured on National TV

Monmouth College

Monmouth College will be on nation-wide television this weekend. On Sunday, it will be one of four college commencement addresses broadcast live by C-SPAN.
A national audience will be able to hear the speech at Monmouth by General John Allen, the Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, the Islamic State.
Allen served as a commanding general in Iraq for two years, before becoming commander of the NATO International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Allen was appointed as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense on Mideast Security. Then last September, President Obama appointed him to his current position, with the US State Department.
Allen's speech at Monmouth College on C-SPAN will follow commencement addresses by former Secretaries of State, Condoleezza Rice and Madeleine Albright, and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. The four speeches will air Sunday on C-SPAN beginning at 11 am, and will be repeated at 5:30 pm.
