People who vote in Moline's mayoral race tomorrow will not have to think about write-in candidates.

Stephanie Acri's name is printed on the ballot followed by incumbent Mayor Scott Raes' name, after she waged a successful primary campaign as a write-in candidate.

Raes says residents should vote for him because, "Moline is on a roll," with a number of successful projects completed over the last four years.

And he's worked hard to get funding for more projects, such as the new I-74 bridge, passenger rail, the Q station with hotel, the third phase of Western Illinois University's riverfront campus, and the expansion of John Deere Road.

About a year ago, Raes retired after 41 years in banking, and says he enjoys spending more time on his role as mayor.

At-Large Alderman, Stephanie Acri, has served on the city council for six years, and is the owner of Evans Premium Manufacturing.

She hopes Moline's successful projects bring in more money to invest in a faster pace of street and road replacement and development south of Airport Road. She also wants to make Moline government more transparent, sharing all it can with the public to help rebuild trust.
