Moderate flooding is occurring along the Mississippi River, and it should continue for several more days.
The National Weather Service says the river crested on Monday in Dubuque at one foot over flood stage, and it's since dropped half a foot and should fall below flood stage by Thursday morning.
The Mississippi is cresting now at Clinton and Fulton, seven tenths of a foot over flood stage.
In the Quad Cities Wednesday, it was two feet over flood stage and still rising. The forecast is for a crest Thursday two-tenths of a foot higher, then a slow fall back to flood stage by next Wednesday.
It's also two feet over flood stage and rising at Muscatine. The crest is expected Friday a couple of tenths higher.
