The crest of the Mississippi River has reached the Quad Cities.
The National Weather Service reports the river reached flood stage on Saturday, and should hold at that level until Tuesday, and then begin to fall. Last week, the forecast was for a crest half a foot higher.
The Mississippi crested Friday and Saturday in Dubuque just below flood stage, and the level has been dropping ever since - it's fallen more than a foot and-a-half.
In Clinton, the river crested Sunday more than a foot below flood stage.
The Mississippi is cresting now at flood stage in Muscatine, and should begin to fall starting Tuesday.
