The Clinton LumberKings have decided to sign on with a new team. After being affiliated with the Seattle Mariners for ten years, the LumberKings are now partnered with the Miami Marlins.
The teams announced their new two-year player development contract Thursday. The Marlins previously worked with the Greensboro Grasshoppers. The last time the Marlins worked with a team in the Midwest League, they were affiliated with the Kane County Cougars during the 1990s.
The LumberKings General Manager, Ted Tornow, says they're excited to welcome the Marlins back to the Midwest League.
