The Rock Island County Health Department has added an STD clinic for women.
Janet Hill, Chief Operating Officer, says the department offers women's reproductive health care three days a week. But additional hours to test women for sexually transmitted diseases have been added to Wednesday afternoons.
Testing for STD's costs $25.00 at the Rock Island County Health Department.
Hill says nationally, the number of sexually transmitted infections is rising. Local health care providers say the number of cases in the Quad Cities is not rising as quickly, but the number of infections is higher than they'd like.
Men, women, and teenagers are invited to take advantage of the STD service on Wednesdays from 1:00 until 3:30 pm. No appointment is needed. For more information, the number is 309.794.7088, and the Rock Island County Health Department address is 2112 25th Avenue, Rock Island, IL.
