Greve Re-Appointed Chief Judge

7th Judicial District

The chief judge of Iowa's Seventh Judicial District will serve another term. Thursday the chief justice of the Iowa Supreme Court announced appointments for each of the eight districts, including the re-appointment of Marlita Greve.

Judge Greve first became chief judge in 2013, and was given another two- year term in 2015. Her new term will begin in January.

After law school, Greve was in private practice for 14 years before her appointment to the bench in 2006.

The Seventh Judicial District covers five counties - Scott, Muscatine, Cedar, Clinton, and Jackson.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
