FBI website

The FBI is asking people for help with a nationwide investigation about the sexual assault and exploitation of a child. The bureau is trying to find out the name of a man, and other identifying details, who may have "critical information" about the identity of a child victim in the case. A link to photographs, a video, and other information is posted on the FBI's website.

The FBI describes the man as white, 30 to 40 years old, and heavyset with dark hair. He is also heard speaking English in the video. Investigators believe the video in which the man is shown with a child was produced before last October.

The FBI refers to the man as "John Doe 40" and is asking anyone with information to submit a tip. That can be done online HERE or by calling at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
