While some Northern Iowa cities are already dealing with severe flooding today, Davenport is preparing for river levels to rise this weekend. The Mississippi River in the Quad Cities is currently 2.6 feet below flood stage. But, it's expected to reach two feet over flood stage next week.
The National Weather Service says there is "high confidence flooding will occur," and Davenport has activated its official Flood Plan.
Crews will place high water signs along South Concord Street Friday. And, streets could be closed as early as Sunday.
