Kyle Carter, from the Downtown Davenport Partnership, says the city has proven several times it excels at providing accommodations, organization, and entertainment for the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. Along with the  street festival, Carter says bike riders will enjoy "RAGBRAI Village" in LeClaire Park.

Molly Otting Carlson, Vice President, Destination Development for the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau

Molly Otting Carlson, from the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau, says at least 100 volunteers are needed to help before, during, and after RAGBRAI.

RAGBRAI will end in Davenport on July 28th, the same day as the Bix 7 Road race.

The previous weekend, about 2,000 people are expected to park their cars at St. Ambrose University, camp overnight in Davenport's Centennial Park, then board buses to the starting point in Onawa. That's where's bicycle riders will dip their tires in the Missouri on July 21st.

By the way, Otting Carlson says even though the bureau's President and CEO, Joe Taylor, will leave the Quad Cities in early June, he will return to help with RAGBRAI.
