A new group in the Quad Cities is providing another opportunity for black and Latino voters to hear from local candidates. At 5:30 Thursday night, the Black and Brown Political Coalition of the Quad Cities will hold its second candidate forum.

The group has invited candidates for State Representative in Illinois' 72nd District, Mike Halpin and Brandi McGuire. And, candidates running for Rock Island County State's Attorney, John McGehee and Geoffrey Campbell.

The Black and Brown Coalition held its first forum last Sunday, but only one candidate, 71st District Representative, Mike Smiddy, was present.

The Black and Brown Political Coalition was formed earlier this month, with the goal of giving black, Latino, and other minority voters a chance to meet candidates and ask questions.

The second forum is from 5:30 to 7:15 pm Thursday, at the King Center in Rock Island.
