The news is a crucial part of WVIK's broadcast day. A balance of local news reports from the WVIK news staff, and national and international news from National Public Radio, keep public radio listeners informed and enlightened throughout the week.

Contacting the Newsroom

Send your information to WVIK news director Herb Trix, by fax, e-mail, or regular mail. Please include all the basic information - who, what, why, when, and where, plus the name and phone number of a contact person in case we need more information or would like to arrange an interview.

Usually about two weeks before an event is plenty of time, and feel free to call and confirm that your press release or announcement was received. Depending on the event, it may be used as a news story, on our community calendar of public service announcements, or both.
