The Midwest Writing CenterŐs 3rd Annual Iron Pen 24-hour Writing Contest will begin Friday, February 18.  Entrants will receive this yearŐs theme by email that day and will have 24 hours to write a fiction, non-fiction or poetry piece.  For more information, call 563-324-1410.

 

On Friday, February 18, the Poetry Out Loud Regional Recitation Contest will be held at the Quad City Art Center in Rock Island beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Students from Orion High School, Thurgood Marshall, and United Township will participate and the winner of this competition will advance to Illinois' March 11 State Poetry Out Loud Competition.  For information, call Tracy White 563-579-7633.
